PocketSlicer

Feature breakdown

Everything PocketSlicer brings to the Android slicing workflow.

PocketSlicer covers the full mobile workflow that matters: import, transform, profile selection, slicing, preview, project history, and export.

Import and project setup

  • Imports ASCII STL, binary STL, and minimal 3MF files.
  • Supports Android document picker and share-intent driven file intake.
  • Stores recent projects locally with source format and slice summary metadata.

Model preparation

  • Move models across the bed, scale them, and rotate directly in the mobile workspace.
  • Center-on-bed workflow makes setup faster for one-off prints.
  • Mesh diagnostics can warn about non-manifold geometry before slicing.

Profiles and process control

  • Built-in printer profiles cover current mainstream hobby machines.
  • Filament presets include PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, and nylon-carbon variants.
  • Process presets handle layer height, walls, solid shells, infill, brim, and support toggles.

Slice output

  • Generates walls, grid infill, top and bottom solids, brim, and support paths.
  • Exports relative-extrusion G-code for Marlin and RepRap style machines.
  • Can inject thumbnail comment blocks for printer and ecosystem compatibility.

Preview and confidence

Mobile slicing only works if the preview is trustworthy.

OpenGL ES 3 viewport

Bed, mesh, walls, infill, and supports are rendered in a hardware-accelerated preview.

Layer slider

Scrub through sliced layers to understand structure before you export or print.

Slice summary

Track estimated print time, layer count, and filament grams in the project state.

Background execution

Native slicing runs on its own thread with progress reporting and cancel support.

Current scope

Built around the parts of the workflow you actually use.

PocketSlicer is a working slicer with a real local pipeline, but it is not positioned as a full CuraEngine or OrcaSlicer replacement yet. The focus is a fast, credible Android workflow with the features that already work well today.
